So, today my company I work for was graced with MLAs, lackeys, and The Premier of New Brunswick, to announce a 10 million dollar grant to us! This money is used for us to develop a rural broadband solution to the 10% of the population without access to high speed internet service.
It seems a little strange to me that in these times of weakened economy, with one of the poorest Provinces in Canada, that high speed internet is anything but a low priority.
What I find stranger still is this money is apparently being given without any checks or milestones required by the government to ensure proper sending of this money takes place. As well, if have to assume very little market investigation was completed prior to this, else, a lot more questions would be asked.
All one has to do is type Xplornet into a google search and you get 100s of hits about problems people are experiencing with Xplornet service across Canada.
It really is time for people in the province to step up there activity in local and provincial government to stop government handouts such as this. It is one thing to provide money for a new company starting out which requires capitol to grow and develop. An existing company operating all across Canada with a large customer base does not need these incentives to develop this market. If it is there to develop someone will come and fill the need, on there own dime. Not my Tax dollars!

I'm just going to say that I'm not ignorant. I understand why you think
it's unethical to eat meat. I just want you to understand that beef is
delicious.
